Peter F. Harrington
Peter F. Harrington has been practicing law for over four decades. Peter practices civil and domestic relations litigation; including preliminary and ex parte matters, discovery, master’s hearings, jury and bench trials in District, Probate and Superior Court. Peter also focuses on title examinations and representation of single, family, commercial and vacant land and multi-residential buyers and sellers, preparation and review of commercial and residential leases, prosecution and defense of summary process actions. Another focus area is on zoning matters, including variances and special permit approvals. Peter assists clients with all phases of project development, including land acquisition, site planning, review of construction documents, general project supervision during construction, review of construction applications for payment, negotiations with brokers and buyers, having represented developers in the Boston area on 50+ projects.
Besides representing clients, Peter also held public office, serving on the Newton Charter Commission, the Newton Board of Aldermen, and Newton Youth Commission. From 1973-1979, Peter was the State Representative for Newton, where he was the legislative author of amendments revising Mass. General Law Chapter 121A (Urban Development) and legislative co-author of amendments revising MGL Chapter 40A (Zoning Act).
Adrian P. Martins
Adrian P. Martins joined the firm in 2014. Adrian counsels individuals and small businesses in legal matters throughout Massachusetts. A true general practitioner, Adrian prides himself on providing value to his clients through multidisciplinary and innovative solutions to complex legal problems.
Adrian earned his JD from Wake Forest University School of Law, where he was a member of the Wake Forest Law Review and the Wake Forest Journal of Business and Intellectual Property Law. Adrian earned his B.S. in Legal Studies with a concentration in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, graduating summa cum laude from the Commonwealth Honors College with Greatest Distinctio
Prior to joining Harrington & Harrington, Adrian was a summer associate at Smith Debnam in Raleigh, North Carolina where he focused on dispute resolution, litigation, and law practice management. Earlier, he was a summer associate at Hornthal, Riley, Ellis, & Maland in Elizabeth City, North Carolina where he performed legal research for all practice groups at a general practice firm. In 2011, Adrian was also a law clerk at the Guilford County Attorney’s Office where he advised the Guilford County Commissioners on compliance with constitutional, statutory, and regulatory law at both the federal and state level and a judicial extern for Judge Edgar B. Gregory & Judge Susan R. Burch in Guilford County. While an undergraduate at the University of Massachusetts, Adrian was also an intern for Lawrence J. Farber in Amherst, Massachusetts where he helped analyze legal issues, prepare discovery, draft legal documents, and assisted with the representation of landlords and property managers.
